Warehouse Winery

Ohio, Road Trip, States

It was a good day, if a bit blustery and chilly, at üCamp. Truth be told it was actually so rainy that the evening presentations and showing of American Grafitti was cancelled. That gave us a guilt-free opportunity to go off campus with a cadre of good friends and sample the fare at Warehouse Winery on Belden Parkway just a short distance from Winklepleck Grove.  On arrival four of us did a limited tasting. Greg & Steve both liked the Concord sweetness of Grapeful but Deb & Karen opted for the drier taste of Redemption! Soon more friends filtered in. Before long it was a party complete with delicious food from Park Street Pizza, lots of conversation, and plenty of laughter. We had a chance to talk with Mary & Jim who will be leaving in September on their Living Simple Tour. They plan to visit 50 states over the course of 365 days. They’ll fly to Alaska and Hawaii but will visit the contiguous 48 states in their T@B 400! It was a great evening. Thanks, Heidi, Tammy, and Mick for some gracious hospitality and shelter from the rain.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Over a long weekend we sampled some of the myriad things to do in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, unique among national parks for it’s environmental reclamation, historic preservation, and recreational opportunities adjacent to the populous cities of Cleveland and Akron in northeastern Ohio. Can’t wait to return and explore more.

Slow Journey Home

Slow Journey Home

Our journey from Portsmouth, England to our home in Ohio might have been accomplished in about sixteen hours but my avoiding air travel we were able to enjoy a fifteen day journey home via train, ship, Uber, train, as well as our own feet and finally our personal vehicle.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

It’s been a fascinating two day visit to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. We managed to pack in tours of the HMS Warrior, the HMS Victory as well ast Victory Live: The
Big Repair, and finally the Mary Rose. All were incredibly informative and well presented.
