Moochdocking in Cambridge

2019 West Again, Iowa, Road Trip, States

Our relationship with Mike and Pam dates back to üCamp17 and a joke we participated in when he told her he’d traded in their T@B 320 for our brand new 400. This year when we couldn’t find enough time for visiting with them in Sugarcreek, we proposed stopping by Cambridge, Iowa for a visit. They suggested Fourth of July and offered us a electrical hookup making it a prime moochdocking opportunity. Once we were ensconced in their driveway the two invited us to relax with a fabulous lunch with local brews after which we toured their 400 and we toured theirs. It’s going to be a fun stay!

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
