Taking Care of Eric

2019 West Again, Colorado, Road Trip, States

There are a couple of advantages of planting ourselves in one place for multiple days. We can get to know people and learn from their expertise and we can take time to do some of errands that are needed to keep us on the road. Today Terri in the campground office made the suggestion that we take our truck to Cripple Creek Automotive for an oil change and safety check. It worked perfectly. We really appreciate the opportunity to patronize local businesses and we got the chance at the same time to explore a bit of Cripple Creek. We did though make a point to not walk too very far down the hill knowing that here at 10,000 feet, the walk back uphill might leave us a bit winded.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
