When choosing a restaurant for a Birthday Meal, it’s a good idea to search Yelp! for Desserts. That strategy lead us to The Keeping Room in Nebraska City, Nebraska. We parked the T@B on a street parallel to Central Avenue and walked to the restaurant. Not many people on the streets this hot midday but a bit a a lunchtime crowd inside. After perusing the desert menu and placing an order for Cherry Pie a la mode to be followed by Molten Lava Kahlua Cake we chose a Chicken Fajita Salad for Karen and French Dip for Steve. It was good to linger and enjoy conversation with our server. There are places to explore here but we’ll save that for another time. For now it’s good to have Nebraska City and The Keeping Room on our map.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
