It’s been a good two night stay here at the West Omaha KOA. We’d been pleased when we were able to get Saturday night reservations online just a couple of days before the weekend then when we called and could not get Friday night also, we weren’t surprised. Then when we arrived and settled into Site 88 in a quiet corner of the campground, we inquired about Sunday night we and were pleased to learn we could stay the extra night as long as we were willing to move. On Sunday morning they were great about letting us move shortly after eleven. The extra day gave us an opportunity to see more in the Omaha area than we had planned, to do some grocery shopping, get laundry done, and do a bit of blogging. Just wish we’d compared the wifi speed with the cellular data speed sooner. We usually prefer to rely on our unlimited Verizon data for most things but should have utilized the campground wifi more. We’d have gotten closer to catching up on our blog had we done so. Lesson learned, we hope.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
