On previous trips to Wyoming we have been delighted by the sight of pronghorn antelope cavorting on the Great Plains particularly in our September trips in 1973 and in 2008. This trip we were looking and hoping to capture an image of Antilocapra Americana, one of the fastest land animals in the world. It’s not an easy task even if you keep your camera at the ready. This afternoon by keeping an iPhone in hand with the camera app open we did manage to get a couple of shots using Burst Mode just west of Laramie, Wyoming. It was only a small herd but we’d have to be here in September during rutting season to see large herds of these glorious animals running across the plains!
Winter Magic in Medina
By deliberate choice we were in Medina for all the winter holiday festivities from Candlelight Walk in the days before Thanksgiving through A Christmas Carol and A Celtic Christmas as well as an Alex Bevan Concert and a historic house tour all the way through Medina’s 31st Ice Festival but perhaps the highlight was the town hosting hundreds of folks whose homes and lives were devasted by Hurricane Helene at the A Promise of Christmas Event the middle of January. It’s an honor to be a part of this amazing community!
