Three and a half hours north of San Francisco, we’re in California Redwoods country. In fact we’re staying at the Historic Benbow Inn & Resort. More accurately, we’re in the smallest campsite available at the Benbow KOA that’s part of the overall complex. Our site boasts the a branch of the Eel River as a backyard. Other sites are adjacent to the golf course and the historic inn is just a short walk away on the other side of the bridge. We walked over there a little while ago and perused the menu. It sounds intriguing and perhaps another night we’d be interested but this evening is for enjoying some quiet time, a good book, and a view of the East Branch South Fork Eel River.
