Mark and Patti suggested one more Pacific Coast adventure before we part ways so we headed to the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve at Moss Beach, California. It’s renowned for the diversity of marine flora and fauna and is s great place to visit tide pools. We arrived just as the tide was at its lowest ebb to discover that everyone else had the same great idea on this summer Sunday afternoon. Chuckie and Judy go to the beach. It truly was a great experience but was very much about people watching as well as appreciating nature and definitely not about solitude today. Along with a last round of hugs, it was in fact a fine finale for a fabulous family visit.
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
