Did we actually have a choice as to what to eat for an Anniversary Dinner when it’s the first day of our first visit to Kansas City? No, not really. When we checked into the Kansas City East/Oak Grove KOA, we asked for a recommendation for BBQ. KC Baby Back Ribs was the answer. Although we could have ordered online and had our meal delivered to our camper, we wanted the ambience of a hole in the wall BBQ joint and headed to their Broadway location in nearby Oak Grove, Missouri, just east of Kansas City. It didn’t disappoint. We both opted for the Baby Back ribs for which the restaurant is named, and for the legendary Burnt Ends, Cheesy Corn and Coleslaw. Not only was the food good and plenty enough to fill us to the brim and to be another meal for another day, but the atmosphere was fun and friendly. A great choice!

Burgh House Hampstead

Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history.
