Finally at last we get to meet Megan’s beloved. Seventeen years into their friendship/relationship, one year into their marriage, and finally we, Meg’s extended family get to meet this young man. It’s possible we met him at Meg’s NMMI graduation, but no one knows for sure. We took the opportunity to bestow a gift of a hand knit blanket with a significant backstory as a wedding gift before the evening’s gathering got rolling. It was fun to gather at a great long table at Mezzaluna Pasteria in Half Moon Bay, California and hobnob with family from all over. We sat near Carol & Dick from Fort Worth, Mary & Phil from Portland, and Doris & Werner from Iphofen. Afterwards some of us indulged in a cutthroat card game innocently called Double Solitaire and initiated a couple of Arden’s into the family tradition.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
