US-20 makes it way across upstate New York through some gorgeous scenery and we’re enjoying poking our way eastward, taking our time and just enjoying the journey. This afternoon we aimed for Cayuga Lake State Park just southeast of Seneca Falls, New York on the shores of the longest of the Finger Lakes. We’ve stayed in this area a couple of time before and always with the notion we’d like to return. Today we had the opportunity to choose our own campsite and were delighted to discover that just around the corner from the main circle in the east campground was Site 7, a lovely little sanctuary. We’ve enjoyed a laid back afternoon and an early evening stroll along the lakeshore and through the Village of Cayuga.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
