National World War One Museum

2019 West Again, Missouri, Road Trip, States

What a powerful experience! So glad we opted to stay one more day and visit the National World War I Museum in Kansas City, Missouri. From the view of poppies under our feet representing the human sacrifice to the expansive view of a great American city from the top of the memorial the whole immersive experience helped us better understand the world history that led to the outbreak of world war in 1914 with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, the experience of the men in the trenches, the effect on the home front, the reasons why this Great War did not in fact end all wars, and so much more. We can highly recommend this experience and suggest you arrive early and be prepared to stay for many hours.

Cozumel & Grand Cayman

Aboard the Norwegian Jewel we’ve made stops in Cozumel, Mexico and Georgetown, Grand Cayman to explore beyond our previous experiences here. Soon we’ll be making our way to ports we’ve not yet explored in the Southern Caribbean.

Winter Magic in Medina

Winter Magic in Medina

By deliberate choice we were in Medina for all the winter holiday festivities from Candlelight Walk in the days before Thanksgiving through A Christmas Carol and A Celtic Christmas as well as an Alex Bevan Concert and a historic house tour all the way through Medina’s 31st Ice Festival but perhaps the highlight was the town hosting hundreds of folks whose homes and lives were devasted by Hurricane Helene at the A Promise of Christmas Event the middle of January. It’s an honor to be a part of this amazing community!
