Not Just Donuts Anymore

2019 West Again, Ohio, Road Trip, States

This morning we finished putting away all of the stuff that had to be taken out of the wardrobe and the under sink cabinet for the upgrades, repairs, and inspection of our T@B 400, then went for a walk before heading to Amish Country Donuts Cafe to meet with Allison. What a delightful lunch. We’ve been in love with ACD for quite a while but up until now had only had their donuts and coffee from their donut trailer in front of the car wash or at üCamp. As a nod to their beginnings, we lunched on their Grilled Cheese Sandwich prepared on the original donut with swiss cheese, bacon, and blackberry jam while we hung out with our friend Allison for every so long. It was wonderful. Now we’re off to Delaware State Park to hang out with other T@B aficianados.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
