The Cooperstown KOA near Richfield Springs, New York is Home for tonight. We’ve enjoyed some state park stays but full hookups and a laundry room are in order for tonight to get ready for a week involving moochdocking, T@B storage, and a family visit. When we made a reservation through the KOA app promised beautiful, shaded back-in sites with great sunset views and we weren’t disappointed. We’re amid some lovely conifers and the view out our Stargazer, beyond the vacant tent sites, is of sunflowers, farm fields, and a gorgeous sunset as we listen to cows mooing, geese honking, and a horse drawing a buggy clip clopping down the lane. It’s a fine finish to a gentle day spent traveling the rolling hills of US-20 across New York state. We spent part of that drive remembering the first time the two of us made this drive. It was 1976 and we drove our silver 1971 Pontiac LeMans through here. In one of those quirks of memory, we know that we stopped for lunch in Morrisville, New York at a restaurant operating in an older house. It was fun as we drove through the town to try to guess which of those old houses along the highway did we dine in those many years ago and whether or not the restaurant was still in operation.

When we were there in 2017 we enjoyed the National Baseball Hall of Fame. This trip we just stayed overnight on our way from Ohio to Massachusetts.

We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.

Wicked The Musical

Wicked The Musical

Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
