A Pause in the Rambles

Family

For a couple of reasons we decided to pause in our travels for a few days. We’re parked in the driveway at Tween Creeks and plan on enjoying some of the little comforts here that the T@B doesn’t offer, like a big comfy sofa. We’ll take care of a few tasks to make the next phase of our travels more pleasant and while we’re here, do some of the things that will make it easier to settle in for our winter in the mountains. Most fun of all will be a chance to hobnob with neighbors and friends over the next few days before we hit the road again.

Sometimes those who wander find their way home again,
at least for a little while…

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
