Chickens & Eggs

Family

One of the reasons that Greg & Rachel chose to move their brood from the big city to a small town was the opportunity to produce some of their own food. Along that line they have joined a chicken co-op in the neighborhood. Yesterday Greg helped build the coop and this morning Rachel helped install the twenty hens. Their responsibilities going forward are to check on the hens and gather eggs twice on Sundays and other members will take care of the other days of the week. By the end the day today they had collected a dozen eggs and Miles had learned about warm eggs and holding hens. Perhaps by this time next year the family will have their own flock and be planting their own vegetable garden!
