Aboard the Pearl

2024, International

Departing from Manhattan Cruise Terminal today aboard the Norwegian Pearl, we’re heading out across the Atlantic and to multiple ports along to way to Southampton and then on to more adventures. We’ll be back in the states in late July. During that time we’ll visit ports in Canada, Iceland, Ireland, Scotland, France, and Norway as well as visit Netherlands, and England – London and beyond. Besides this repositioning cruise we’re booked for back to back cruises out of Amsterdam, and a transatlantic return voyage adding up to forty-seven nights aboard ship. Yes, we’re incredibly excited and feel very lucky to have this kind of opportunity. Life is an amazing adventure!

I hope you two don’t eat like I do when I’m on a cruise. We won’t recognize you guys after 47 days.

Great job putting your anniversary trip together.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
