Thanks to Rick Dunnuck for the official photography and to Mandy Lea for sharing the photos

After an amazing several weeks in Medina we headed back east for a little visit with family, a quick foray into family history in East Haddam, Connecticut, and to retrieve Bell@ from her secondary home in Greg’s driveway. From there we made our way to Adirondack Peaks, a Spacious Skies Campground in North Hudson, New York for the Mandy Lea and Kendrick Northeast Rally sponsored by nüCamp RV. It’s a reunion with so very many friends that we’ve made in the teardrop community through the years as well as a chance to learn new skills, share some of our experience with folks just beginning their teardrop journeys, and hang out around the campfire swapping stories. We got in a little dancing on “prom night”, laughed a bit as we watched our friends sing karaoke, and made new friends on the morning group walks. We feasted on “fresh fire cooked pizza”, marveled at the number of entries into the cocktail contest, and enjoyed the “home” cooking (camper cooking) the night of the potluck. On a more personal note, it was glorious to be out and about in our own little camper. With other travels his year we’d stayed in Bell@ little this year and with the impending winter weather we’ll be winterizing and storing her soon. Therefore we set aside some time to just hang out and enjoy being at home in our own space. We appreciated Marvin assisting us in a bit of troubleshooting after we discovered a water leak a few hours after we set up and connected the city water line for the first time this year. Not long after we arrived, we heard that there would be a surprise visitor from the factory arriving on Friday and were absolutely delighted that it was not just one but two – Joe and Ina Mullet – the Founder of nuCamp RV and his wife, and were even more delighted to have some time for a quiet personal visit with both of them. All in all it was a delightful opportunity to be nourished by this incredible community of folks who share with us so many values such as a sense of adventure, an appreciation of quality, and a tendency toward minimalism. We’re so lucky to be a part of this. Thank you to Mandy & Kendrick for organizing this along with their incredible team and the sponsorship of nüCamp creators of our amazing teardrop campers.

Cozied up in our own little space near Cooperstown on the trip home.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Over a long weekend we sampled some of the myriad things to do in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, unique among national parks for it’s environmental reclamation, historic preservation, and recreational opportunities adjacent to the populous cities of Cleveland and Akron in northeastern Ohio. Can’t wait to return and explore more.

Slow Journey Home

Slow Journey Home

Our journey from Portsmouth, England to our home in Ohio might have been accomplished in about sixteen hours but my avoiding air travel we were able to enjoy a fifteen day journey home via train, ship, Uber, train, as well as our own feet and finally our personal vehicle.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

It’s been a fascinating two day visit to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. We managed to pack in tours of the HMS Warrior, the HMS Victory as well ast Victory Live: The
Big Repair, and finally the Mary Rose. All were incredibly informative and well presented.
