Hooray! We were able to resume our treasured tradition of hosting Deck Day every Memorial Day. Good citizenship and public health concerns caused us to cancel in 2020 and 2021, but now we're back on track for the twenty-ninth version of this gathering of friends and...

Wonka Weekend
It was a quick visit with family, just Thursday evening to Saturday morning, but it was packed with satisfying moments. We had a chance for some quiet conversations with Riley & Peyton talking about their upcoming plans and while they were at school, rehearsal,...
Giving Thanks
Yes, we're back at our mountain house having returned in late September. Yes, we are way way behind on our blog posts. Yes, we promise to get caught up on posting all of the great experiences we have had these last several months but we didn't want to miss out on the...
1956 Chevy
What an unexpected delight! When we headed to Marlin's Family Restaurant in Mitchell, South Dakota for a Sunday brunch, we never expected to enter a time warp, but suddenly Steve was transported back to childhood with the two-toned green 1956 Chevy Bel Air parked next...
Celebrating in Watertown
We're still celebrating! Yesterday was our wedding anniversary and we marked the occasion at Dempsey’s Brew Pub on Broadway in Watertown, South Dakota with their award winning Casanova Pizza on Cauliflower Crust accompanied by their delicious Black Bear Stout! And...
nüCamp Rocks!
The two of us left from üCamp on the 20th of last month to begin our 2021 Summer Ramble and over the course of thirty days had had adventures in just three states. From eastern central Ohio we'd traveled and explored parts of Indiana then on to Illinois. At Starved...
A Wisconsin Dive Bar
Today was a travel day, albeit a short one, from Rochester to New Salem, communities on either side of Springfield, Illinois. Our habit of late is to enjoy some leisure on either side of the travel. Thus we didn't plan to have anything worth blogging about. We'd...
A Bloomington Fourth
Our visits to Bloomington, Indiana are always amazing but this visit has taken it to the next level. We were privileged to have the opportunity to moochdock in CJ & Phil's driveway over the busiest campground weekend of the year and to share a spirit of adventure...
Never Stop Dancing
Our granddaughters have been studying dance each since they were about two years old. Now at ages 17 and 11 they are quite accomplished and it's an incredible treat each time we get the opportunity to watch them perform. Today they and their fellow dancers are...
Mountain House Interlude
Tonight is our tenth night of driveway camping in Bell@ at our mountain house. This has given us the chance to bring home some items that we'd used in Sc@rlett that we do not currently need as we continue to get settled into Bell@. And we had just a few things to do...
Planning a trip? Dreaming of travel? Perhaps some of our adventures could inspire yours! Over the last several years we’ve had the distinct pleasure of many cross country journeys traveling though the Lower 48 in tents and our various teardrop campers as well as an amazing Alaska adventure that did not involve a camper.

OUR VERY
LATEST
Wicked The Musical
Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens
London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
Caligula at Strawberry Hill
The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
