NYC was experiencing flooded roads and subways as we arrived at the Red Hook terminal in Brooklyn. It was quite an adventure to make our way to our Midtown Manhattan Hotel.

Full-Time Travels
Westbound on Cunard’s Queen Mary 2
Seven day passage from Southampton to New York, the very first Festival of Food and Wine aboard Cunard, passing around Hurricane Nigel in the North Atlantic. So much to do, so little time!
Our Last Days in London
Our last days in London were a mix of visiting more of the iconic sites in this ancient city, savoring the sounds of The Jive Aces, and just chilling in Hampstead before heading to Southampton.
Four Weeks in London
Sorry for no pictures with this post. We haven’t been blogging recently because we’ve run into software issues preventing us from uploading photos. Hopefully we’ll get it sorted when we’re back on our home turf but we want to share a list of at least some of the...
London – Week Three
Another week of incredible adventures in and around London.
Second Week in London
It’s been an amazing week of sharing adventures with Amanda as well as trotting off on our own to see some “must sees” as well as more obscure and out of the way spots in this amazing capitol city.
John Harrison and the Marine Chronograph
Born in 1693 in Yorkshire in the north of England he was a self-taught carpenter and clockmaker. When he was twenty-one Parliament passed the 1714 Longitude Act and set the course for Harrison’s life as he set off on a quest to build an accurate marine chronometer.
Hampstead Heath and Beyond
These last few days we've been getting oriented to our home for the month. With lodgings in the village of Hampstead in northwestern London, we have easy access to Hampstead Heath, a glorious 800 acre park that is a series of footpaths through woods and grassy spaces....
Welcome to Hampstead
It’s been a fabulous day hopefully foreshadowing good things to come as we settle into making the village of Hampstead our home for four weeks!
Transatlantic Crossing
It’s a first for us, a transatlantic sea voyage and our first trip to England! Although we’ve cruised quite a few times, this is different. Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 is an ocean liner rather than a cruise ship.
Planning a trip? Dreaming of travel? Perhaps some of our adventures could inspire yours! Over the last several years we’ve had the distinct pleasure of many cross country journeys traveling though the Lower 48 in tents and our various teardrop campers as well as an amazing Alaska adventure that did not involve a camper.

OUR VERY
LATEST
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
Wicked The Musical
Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens
London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
