National Park Videos Lower Town Harper's Ferry is incredibly rich in history. Many of us know that it's where John Brown took a stand in the years leading up to the Civil War but not so much of the rest of the incredibly rich history of this place. Since the time...

Cavalier Heights Visitors Center
Wow! What a wealth of information we walked into when we stopped by the Harper's Ferry Visitors Center. Yesterday we came by in the afternoon to learn the ropes and get some basic information before riding the shuttle to Lower Town. We stopped in afterwards to ask a...
Bolivar Heights
The Harper's Ferry KOA is located on Bolivar Heights, the place at Harper's Ferry that saw more action than any other during the Civil War is immediately adjacent to the Murphy Farm area of the national park property. It bears interpretive markers that may date back...
Skyline in the Rain
See Park Videos What a beautiful experience! We broke camp at Loft Mountain and headed north on the Skyline Drive through rain and fog. Traffic was light and we took our time occasionally pulling over to allow a faster driver to pass while we admired the vista. This...
Raindrop Gazing
Such a delight to awaken warm and cozy to the sound of raindrops on the roof and to linger a while staring at the raindrops sliding down the curve of the stargazer window. We're hoping our tenting neighbors have fared well in this all night rain as we remember a...
Doyles Falls Hike
Once we had the T@B-400 comfortably ensconced on Site 58 at Loft Mountain we headed to MP 81 and the Doyles River Falls Trail. It's a fun walk through the woods, no panoramic views on this trail, just a continual downward slope. Partway down we were advised that there...
JustJohn
Last night we stayed at a family owned campground just north of Waynesboro VA where we took the opportunity to shop for groceries at the local Kroger. As we were poised to depart this morning we met JustJohn, a fellow T@B owner. He'd pulled in later than we did last...
Just Chillin’
Spent the weekend goofing off, doing some reading for pleasure, eating simple meals prepared from the leftovers of our last grill night, napping, enjoying the slightly cooler sunshiny days, just recharging our batteries, and enjoying life in our T@B-400. This morning...
A Fun Encounter
As we were fueling up this morning near Greensboro NC, Foxy & Taz asked to see our trailer. At the beginning of our visit she was aware of the T@B and anxious to learn more. Now they're both excited and seriously considering moving up from a pop up camper for...
Back on the Road
The road trip calls and we must go. It's been a pleasant sojourn at the house but adventure is out there and we're anxious to find it! After an interruption of two and a half weeks, we're back! Heading east on I-40 looking for possibilities!
Planning a trip? Dreaming of travel? Perhaps some of our adventures could inspire yours! Over the last several years we’ve had the distinct pleasure of many cross country journeys traveling though the Lower 48 in tents and our various teardrop campers as well as an amazing Alaska adventure that did not involve a camper.
