Hot Springs After Dark
After getting situated at the national park campground, we four piled into our truck and made our way into the heart of historic Hot Springs. First challenge was figuring out where to park! From there we toured one of the historic bathhouses along Bathhouse Row and...
Kristi’s Piano Bar
In a side room of Corona Restaurant in Rogers, Arkansas on certain Friday nights Kristi hosts a Piano Bar. It's a gathering of friends, an opportunity to enjoy music, food, and drink, and to participate. She invited a number of the audience up on stage to sing and...
Pancakes, Hats, and Funnel Cake
It's the annual Bella Vista craft fair extravaganza weekend and we have Sharon and Mike as our personal guides. First stop was the annual Methodist Men Pancake Day. What a fun community event. Excellent pancakes and accompaniments served with a sense of fun. We made a...
Eureka Springs
After our foray into the art world Sharon and Mike took us on a tour of Eureka Springs, a wonderful historic town in the heart of the Ozarks. We shot photos of beautiful Victorian houses from the car windows, stopped to check out the Spring Street Grotto, had a...
Crystal Bridges
Today we had the pleasure of visiting Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, an unexpected treat in Bentonville, Arkansas. With Sharon and Mike we wandered through galleries marveling at the wonderful pieces of American art gathered here. At one point we were able to...
Grateful for Bridges
We left Little Rock this morning and headed east on I-40. We just crossed the mighty Mississippi at Memphis with hardly a thought. It's so easy in this era of interstate travel to take for granted safe passage across big bodies of water. It hasn't always been so....
Prairie Grove
It seems that most of the commonly shared stories of the Civil War involve action east of the Mississippi but today we visited the site of the December 7, 1862 Battle of Prairie Grove. It's a wonderfully preserved battlefield with a wealth of historic buildings. We...

Bill Ate Here
We're at Tailgater's in Hope, Arkansas, across from the Visitor's Center/Amtrak station. Thought we'd get a little refreshment before heading across the street to learn a little more about the town that is Bill Clinton's birthplace.

Winter Magic in Medina
By deliberate choice we were in Medina for all the winter holiday festivities from Candlelight Walk in the days before Thanksgiving through A Christmas Carol and A Celtic Christmas as well as an Alex Bevan Concert and a historic house tour all the way through Medina’s 31st Ice Festival but perhaps the highlight was the town hosting hundreds of folks whose homes and lives were devasted by Hurricane Helene at the A Promise of Christmas Event the middle of January. It’s an honor to be a part of this amazing community!
Savoy at Sea 2025
The warmth we anticipated when we headed to the Caribbean in mid-January didn’t really materialize but the fun we had with our dancing friends and the great crew of the Margaritaville at Sea Islander more than made up for the not so favorable weather.
Cruising Canada’s Coast
Aboard Jewel of the Seas, a favorite ship of ours, we enjoyed a foray into the history and geology of Canada’s Atlantic coast while enjoying the joys of friendships, longtime and new. Now we’re looking forward to returning to the same ship for further adventures!
