Our plans to soak in some natural hot springs this morning were thwarted by a routine temporary closure. Darn! Our muscles are begging for a session in hot waters. However that gave us the opportunity to get an early start into Eugene where we were successful at...

Clackamas Valley
The AccuWeather promise of sunshine today wasn't evident as we were packing up and preparing to depart this morning. It was under gray skies that we headed west on I-84 toward Gresham traveling between Historic US-30 and the Columbia River. We saw the Crown Point...
Multnomah and More
Our home last night was the Vancouver RV Park, a distinctly urban park with tight sites, full hookups, and a prohibition against tents. It served our purpose nicely yesterday. Today we took advantage of the location and after pulling out we drove a few short blocks to...
You Could See for Miles and Miles…
If not for the wildfire haze. There are several sagebrush fires in the vicinity so the views of this beautiful scenery from US20E are all hazy. Headed from Crystal Crane Hot Springs in Oregon to Miracle Hot Springs in Idaho on the recommendation of our campground...
The Oregon Scenic Byway
Spent the day traveling east on US Highway 20. This sounds suspiciously like a blog entry from last summer when we traveled 20 through the wine country of New York's Finger Lakes. But today we traveled through the Willamette Valley, the Cascade Mountains, and...
Where the Sidewalk Ends
For the last few days we have been having great fun geocaching. it has taken us off the beaten path and made us appreciate more of our surroundings. We're traveling slowly, stopping in small towns, and noticing things we might otherwise have missed. One cache entitled...
Sweet Home, Oregon
After five geocache finds this morning we packed up and headed east. Passed through Sweet Home and commented on the name than a few minutes later we heard the song "Singing Sweet Home Alabama All Summer Long" playing on Sirius. Outside of town we couldn't help...
Almost to Bandon
We continued to poke our way up the Pacific Coast Highway enjoying the sights and the geocache searches, hiking, and gazing at the awesome Pacific. Early afternoon we happened upon a KOA and made a quick decision to stop for the night. That way we can defer the...
Chowder at Mo’s
Back in Petaluma fellow T@B travelers from Vancouver BC told us that if we got to Florence on the Oregon coast, that we should get Clam Chowder at Mo's. We did and we did but only because Hwy 42S east of Bandon was closed. Drat! That meant that we had to travel a...
Made it to Gold Beach!
We thought we'd move up the coast just a bit and snag a site in Harris Bay State Park over the border near Brookings, Oregon. Silly us. It may be a weekday but it's July and by the time we got there the campground was full. So we pedaled on a bit and got a site at the...

Over the last several years we’ve had the distinct pleasure of many cross country journeys traveling though the Lower 48 in tents and our various teardrop campers as well as an amazing Alaska adventure that did not involve a camper.

London’s Canals
The two of us have long been fascinated with the history of canals and their role in the history of transportation, industrialization, and more recently recreation. This stay in London has given us new opportunities to explore and learn more about how canals contributed to the growth of this great city and how they are being used and preserved today.
National Portrait Gallery
It was a most educational visit to the newly renovated National Portrait Gallery at Trafalgar Square in Central London. We were intrigued with the contemporary approach to presenting British History.
Bletchley Park
It was at Bletchley Park that the Allied Codebreakers deciphered German military messages during the Second World War. A free guided tour gave us a good overview of the campus and the activities that occurred here from 1938 to 1945.
