With a weekend coming up we thought it would be prudent to have a reservation so we consulted Allstays for an appealing place within a reasonable distance of Spokane. Peaceful Pines sounded nice so we called. They were full on Saturday. No, wait! Just eighteen feet?...

Signs of Winter
Northwest Washington has two seasons, sunny summer and dreary winter. We're dancing on the boundary. Yesterday we enjoyed some glorious sunshine as we walked on Hurricane Ridge but today, on this last day of the Summer season the skies are leaden. We packed up and are...
Bibbsy’s
Sabrina & Cornelius are purveyors of some amazing Texas BBQ up in the northwest corner of Washington State. Though they may no longer have their restaurant they do serve up some fabulous meals on the weekends at the Port Angeles KOA. They wormed their way into our...
Crossing Paths Again
Cathy & Jay took delivery of their new black and silver clamshell T@B just before Tearstock in July. They were camped near us there at Atwood but we didn't really get to know them until they and their dog Zoe stayed a few sites from us in Cottonwood campground at...
Chuckie & Judy’s Day Out
One evening in September 1975 at Patrick Henry Inn after a long day of touring Williamsburg VA along with hordes of tourists, we watched a report on the evening news of two chimps, named Chuckie & Judy that had escaped from the local zoo. Just opened the...
Hurricane Ridge Parking Lot
After some deliberation and a stop at the Visitors Center at Port Angeles for information, we decided to make the drive up to the highest point in Olympic National Park, Hurricane Ridge. The ranger told us that at the entrance they would not permit more vehicles to...
Sequim
Last time we were in the area we just whizzed past Sequim barely noticing it but that along with a conversation with a cousin, it did put the place on our mental map. Today it was our destination. We started with haircuts at Great Clips then the Museum & Arts...
Steak and Eggs!
When Dave and the girls called Wednesday night with Anniversary best wishes, they asked if we'd gotten our Steak and Eggs. It's our traditional September 1st breakfast. But there's only one restaurant at Kalaloch Beach, at the lodge, and they don't have Steak and Eggs...
One More Walk
And when the rain let up enough, who could resist one more sunset stroll on Kalaloch Beach?
Got Rain?
Early this morning we opted to skip the early morning Ranger Talk on the beach thinking we'd catch it tomorrow before we pack up. Then as we were cleaning up after breakfast the rain started. We tucked the generator in under the T@B for shelter then we tucked...

OUR VERY
LATEST
Wicked The Musical
Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens
London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
Caligula at Strawberry Hill
The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
