After yesterday's adventures along blue highways, we overnighted at the Laramie KOA and headed out this morning along the interstate highway with no particular plans until we approached Cheyenne, Wyoming and noticed a brown sign. Next thing we knew we were parked on...

And the Antelope Play
On previous trips to Wyoming we have been delighted by the sight of pronghorn antelope cavorting on the Great Plains particularly in our September trips in 1973 and in 2008. This trip we were looking and hoping to capture an image of Antilocapra Americana, one of the...
The Virginian
After an overnight at Wind River RV Park and an early morning walk in Riverton, We headed east through the Wyoming landscape in search of a legend. Beginning in 1885 the young Harvard educated lawyer Owen Wister visited Medicine Bow, Wyoming for health reasons and...
Tetons East Entrance
See Park Video On our previous visits to Grand Tetons National Park in Wyoming, we've coupled it with a trip to Yellowstone and we've spent a lot of time driving from place to place within the park. Trying to see as much as possible we've focused on the Teton Park...
Roots of the Wilderness Action
Our desire to explore won out. After a morning in the campground we headed out. This afternoon Docent Lisa greeted us in the living room of the Mardy & Olaus Murie House, part of The Murie Ranch, an enclave within Grand Teton National Park. Although we had not...
Gros Ventre Campground
When it became evident to us that a visit to Grand Tetons could in fact fit into our eastbound itinerary, we focused on Gros Ventre Campground. One of its charms is that all 300 campsites are first come first served. There's no one here who made their reservation...
Rock Springs
In the morning, a bit of errands. Steve needed a haircut and got a great one from Shauna at Great Clips. We got some treats and other supplies at Albertsons. That triggered a memory or two since Karen worked for them in St Petersburg many years ago. In the afternoon,...
It’s Wyoming!
Today's journey took us about two hours west on I-80 to the Rock Springs, Wyoming neighborhood. We're feeling comfortable here at the KOA and are taking some time to catch our breath and enjoy a two night stay. Neighbors Mike & Brenda saw us preparing to add some...
Quick Departure
Our overnight at Rawlins, Wyoming was a good stop. Choosing the KOA Journey here meant we could do a propane refill and a load of laundry. The brisk wind over the high plains changed our plans for doing a grill night. During the night the thought presented that this...
Casper
When we checked the Travel Ideas by State list that we keep in Notes on our iPhones, we remembered that one of the places we've been wanting to visit is the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center in Casper, Wyoming. Today we enjoyed the excellent multi-media...

Winter Magic in Medina
By deliberate choice we were in Medina for all the winter holiday festivities from Candlelight Walk in the days before Thanksgiving through A Christmas Carol and A Celtic Christmas as well as an Alex Bevan Concert and a historic house tour all the way through Medina’s 31st Ice Festival but perhaps the highlight was the town hosting hundreds of folks whose homes and lives were devasted by Hurricane Helene at the A Promise of Christmas Event the middle of January. It’s an honor to be a part of this amazing community!
Savoy at Sea 2025
The warmth we anticipated when we headed to the Caribbean in mid-January didn’t really materialize but the fun we had with our dancing friends and the great crew of the Margaritaville at Sea Islander more than made up for the not so favorable weather.
Cruising Canada’s Coast
Aboard Jewel of the Seas, a favorite ship of ours, we enjoyed a foray into the history and geology of Canada’s Atlantic coast while enjoying the joys of friendships, longtime and new. Now we’re looking forward to returning to the same ship for further adventures!
