After yesterday's adventures along blue highways, we overnighted at the Laramie KOA and headed out this morning along the interstate highway with no particular plans until we approached Cheyenne, Wyoming and noticed a brown sign. Next thing we knew we were parked on...

And the Antelope Play
On previous trips to Wyoming we have been delighted by the sight of pronghorn antelope cavorting on the Great Plains particularly in our September trips in 1973 and in 2008. This trip we were looking and hoping to capture an image of Antilocapra Americana, one of the...

Tetons East Entrance

Roots of the Wilderness Action
Our desire to explore won out. After a morning in the campground we headed out. This afternoon Docent Lisa greeted us in the living room of the Mardy & Olaus Murie House, part of The Murie Ranch, an enclave within Grand Teton National Park. Although we had not...
Gros Ventre Campground
When it became evident to us that a visit to Grand Tetons could in fact fit into our eastbound itinerary, we focused on Gros Ventre Campground. One of its charms is that all 300 campsites are first come first served. There's no one here who made their reservation...
Rock Springs
In the morning, a bit of errands. Steve needed a haircut and got a great one from Shauna at Great Clips. We got some treats and other supplies at Albertsons. That triggered a memory or two since Karen worked for them in St Petersburg many years ago. In the afternoon,...

Quick Departure
Our overnight at Rawlins, Wyoming was a good stop. Choosing the KOA Journey here meant we could do a propane refill and a load of laundry. The brisk wind over the high plains changed our plans for doing a grill night. During the night the thought presented that this...

Wicked The Musical
Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens
London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
Caligula at Strawberry Hill
The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
