Camping & Kayaking

Long before our first date we were both campers.  Steve’s experience was in Boy Scouts and Explorers.  Karen did family camping as well as plenty of Girl Scout camping.  We’d both backpacked on the Appalachian Trail.  We began our marriage with a three and a half week tent camping trip across the United States (from Cincinnati to St Petersburg by way of San Francisco) and have done extensive family camping with our three offspring.  Kayaking is a more recent interest.  We discovered it’s joys while camping at Fort DeSoto in April 2003.  Our recent emphasis in camping has been to make the experience as luxurious and compact as possible.  We are always on the lookout for ways to upgrade our comfort as long as it is compact enough to allow all our equipment to fit into our Chevy Impala!
