See Olympic Park Intro Video See Olympic NP Videos It's been a fabulous stay on #19 in Mora Campground. We chose Mora not only for its proximity to Rialto Beach but also for its National Park aesthetic and its affordability, only $10 per night with our Senior Pass!...
Hole in the Wall
With a degree of trepidation we set out this morning to hike to Hole in the Wall from the Rialto Beach parking lot, in Olympic National Park on Washington State's Pacific Coast. It's only two miles each way. Oh yeah, it's through beach rock and sand. How will the...
Sunset Called
Sunset at Rialto seemed too good an opportunity to pass up, but we didn't stay on the beach the whole time. Instead we made the nine minute drive to the Three Rivers Resort Restaurant for some Halibut Fish & Chips. The food was good but the references to The...
Rialto
There's nothing like sitting on an ancient giant tree on a rocky shore watching Pacific waves crashing near our feet and dark clouds scuttling overhead while writing a blog. There might be a glorious sunset this evening. We might not want to wait out in the cold to...
Salmon Run
Wow! We got to see salmon run! We really did! Clued in by the ranger at the Olympic National Park Visitors Center that the coho and Chinook salmon are running. So fortified with Fish and Chips at Next Door Gastropub in Port Angeles, Washington, we headed to Salmon...
Chuckie & Judy’s Day Out
One evening in September 1975 at Patrick Henry Inn after a long day of touring Williamsburg VA along with hordes of tourists, we watched a report on the evening news of two chimps, named Chuckie & Judy that had escaped from the local zoo. Just opened the...
Hurricane Ridge Parking Lot

One More Walk
And when the rain let up enough, who could resist one more sunset stroll on Kalaloch Beach?
Got Rain?
Early this morning we opted to skip the early morning Ranger Talk on the beach thinking we'd catch it tomorrow before we pack up. Then as we were cleaning up after breakfast the rain started. We tucked the generator in under the T@B for shelter then we tucked...

National Portrait Gallery
It was a most educational visit to the newly renovated National Portrait Gallery at Trafalgar Square in Central London. We were intrigued with the contemporary approach to presenting British History.
Bletchley Park
It was at Bletchley Park that the Allied Codebreakers deciphered German military messages during the Second World War. A free guided tour gave us a good overview of the campus and the activities that occurred here from 1938 to 1945.
Fenton House and Spaniards Inn
A lovely way to spend a Sunday in Hampstead. We visited the historic Fenton House to view lots of lovely collectibles, to listen to and learn about harpsicords, and to tour and linger in the garden before heading off to the historic Spaniard’s Inn for a most delectable Sunday Roast.
